| Wow, 7 months have past since I last posted? Eeep! That was before summer break even! Well, since then I have went to summer and finally started nursing classes. Yep! I is not easy, and I should be reading or something right now, but I just thought about my old Xanga here. My, my, how I have neglected thee. Blame Facebook. And also since that Billy Bob Thornton concert, I have seen Collective Soul w/ Black Stone Cherry & Ryan Star(yes again!) Ryan Star hit on me and I got a free autographed poster and picture. Also got more autographs from Black Stone Cherry like I usually do. Then this past Sunday I saw The 69 Eyes. I have been waiting for that for a long time too. Despite being Finnish Goth guys, they were nice and I got pis and autographs with them too. Real small show, though. Then....this past Wednesday I saw U2!!! It was at the Reliant Stadium this time around. Anybody else catch them on the new tour? If you haven't, you have seriously missed out. I skipped school for it to stand in line. I was #255 even though I got there at 10:30. On the Vertigo Tour I got there at noon and was only 50 something. Definatley a bigger show! Outdid myself by being FRONT ROW, even though I lost my mom in the mad dash to stage. Speaking of the stage....oh my God! Words can not describe. Bridges kept going over my head! I had an excellent view of Adam and Bono...The Edge and Larry, not so much. The stage was really high up. I made eye contact with Bono 2 times because I acted like an idiot dancing around, jumping, and blowing kisses. Yeah, I had to make it count because it not many times you can make yourself look dumb in front of Bono and have him look at you like "WTF?" Then at one point I thought I was gonna get picked during WOWY because he was just staring, but...nothing. At least security didn't yell at me to get down off someone's shoulder like they did another girl! I was chosen to volunteer for ONE and be one of those people onstage during "Walk On", but backed out at the last minute. Would have been a once in a lifetime event. :Sigh: We had an awesome setlist. I was surprised to hear "Your Blue Room" and "The Unforgettable Fire". "Ultraviolet" was my favorite. I wish I could do it all over again! Parking was terrible, though. We sat in the lot for an hour afterward to get out. Ridiculous! I'm not gonna write a long review like I used to. I don't have the time anymore. I just figured I could make a little time after U2. We all know that's all I used to talk about on here and all the other Lypton Villagers! Good times. Blessings and Much <3 | | |
| So I saw Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters (his band) last Saturday at the House of Blues. Yes, the actor Billy Bob Thornton. It was quite interesting. I really did not have an idea of what he sang, but my mom really wanted to go because she loves him, so there we went on a dreary, cold, and rainy Saturday. We had reserved seats so we really didn't try to get there too early. Because of the stupid rodeo, we couldn't park at the Fannin South Park & Ride and catch the tram like we usually do, so we just drove down there and parked in a lot that ended being way cheaper than we expected. $1.00! We did end up getting there pretty early though because we read the ticket wrong so we just went to Books-A-Million down the strip (all of this is in some new super pavilions downtown) and I got the new Rolling Stone. In case you don't know
U2 is on the front. Its a good article so get it. I actually laughed on some parts. Bono talks with his mouth full and tries to touch pigeons in mid flight...not at the same time though. So anyway, we didn't actually stay in the reserved seats like we were supposed to. Actually, it appeared as if the people who bought the reserved seats (which cost more) were able to choose between there and the floor. That or either they just had really lax security. The guy working the elevator said that we could come back down, but he would have to check our tickets if we wanted to go back up, not the other way around. Whatever, it worked. So throughout the whole show we were either second or first row, depending on how the people were moving. And the bathrooms are really fancy. Zowee. I only seen that stuff in the movies. So after random, uncomfortable conversations with a couple of drunk guys, the show started. It took like an hour and a half for the band to come out. There was no opening band. And you know what? Billy Bob is not that bad of a singer. In terms of is stage performance, he reminds me of Ville Valo. That will be Ville when he gets about Billy Bob's age. Ville Bob. LOL He sings this sort of rockabilly style music. It away from my norms, but I liked it. The songs were hilarious though. They had titles like "It Only When I Pee" and "I'll Give You A Ring When You Give Me My Balls Back". There were some others like "The Good Ol' Days" and ones that I can't remember the title because he either didn't say them or didn't know himself. The latter were because they were new songs in the working. Oh, and two of they guys from ZZ Top were there too. During one part of the show, he sat down on the stage right in front of the crowd and talked to us and started to sing. Then he gave somebody the set list. He's one cool dude. I was too scared to say anything though. I don't know why. But when people screamed, yelled, pointed, held up signs, waved, whatever, he waved back, pointed, winked, or smiled back at them. He said he knew some people from before from when he came to Clear Lake last year. Must have been at the Scout Bar! In fact, he knows all about the Houston area. Apparently, he did alot of work down here before he started acting. It was all funny. This is a guy who has been in all sorts of movies and he actually knows about little ol' Houston. I feel much obliged. The show ended pretty early, like before 11. It was laid back show and I liked it. I'll would see him perform again. I took pictures, but they're all on my cell phone and came out crappy. All except for when he was sitting down. I didn't take my camera. I wasn't sure about the rules of HOB. So what do ya'll think of the new U2 album/tour dates? They're coming here October 14 and I'm saving up my money for both the fan club and the tickets. The staging is gonna be a trip, though. Looks like something out of War of the Worlds. I do like the new CD. I pretty much like the whole thing except for "White As Snow" and "Unknown Caller" which are my least favs. "Breathe" is my number 1 and should have been the first single IMO. They are already playing "Magnificent" on the radio now. That's single number 2. Did anyone see the Letterman stint, too? Ergh, now money has to come out for a new screen door. You're dipping into my concert funds here! We already need a new toilet. I loathe home improvement, well at least in inopportune times.
| So this isn't even gonna be a full concert report. Hell, I didn't even get a chance to get into the show! I attempted to go see Black Stone Cherry at the Scout Bar last Sunday. It was a free show and everything, but little did I know that when they said "21 and up", they meant "21 AND UP!" My mom and I took the drive all the way down to Webster, TX (which isn't really that far) and I was all excited, only to be banished from the festivities. That was alright, though. I wasn't defeated. After we left out the venue, the tour bus was standing right in front (it's a small place), so we decided to just wait to see if maybe I could get to meet them...again. I believe the lead singer came out first, but I couldn't be sure if that was him or not, so I stayed back. Roadie walked by and me and my mom still didn't say anything. Then the bassist came out and we finally decided to approach them. It was getting cold and windy and we've been waiting maybe ~20 minutes, give or take. My mom had the honors of introducing ourselves, and then yelled at me to get over there. Geez! We told the bassist, Jon, how I wasn't able to get in because I was only 19 and blah blah blah so I wondered if I could get an autograph and a picture. He was very courteous and was like "yea, sure!" He asked me what my name was, although I could barely hear him, and then said he was gonna go and get the other guys so they could be there too. At least I didn't have to ask. So he stuck his head in the door and told them the situation. The first one to stumble out was Ben, the guitar player. He stepped off and looked around and when he saw my mom he looked kind of shocked and said "hey!" We reciprocated to which he replied" I remember you guys!" We looked kind of puzzled and asked "YOU remember us?" and he was like "Yea, I do!" and gave each of us a big hug. Wow, wasn't expecting that. I had a short conversation with him way back in '07 and my mom said nothing. The next guy to come out I didn't even know who he was. At first I thought it was the other roadie and was wondering "Hey, where is John Fred (the drummer?" If you don't know, review my post from 06/07. Geez, that was him, he just had his hair up. He came out, looking confused like Ben (I think they were watching the Superbowl) but when he saw my mom and I, he started smiling, said "Hi!", and gave us a big hug too. So mom preceded to tell them the story of why I couldn't get in, although the other guy already told them. She told John Fred that "his friend (her choice of words baffle me) wasn't able to get into the show because she's only 19." He turned around and went "Aww!" Then, just like 2 freakin' years ago, he started getting that twinkly look in his eyes again. WTF? I thought that was over. They done been to Europe and all over the world. Geez! I took it in stride though. They continued to sign the CD. The lead singer came out but I can't remember much he said because I don't think he even said much. We kept a casual conversation going with them. Just like with Hinder, we were the only ones there. Speaking of Hinder, my mom thought it was a wise idea to tell Black Stone Cherry that we met Hinder too. They just went "ohhh." That was unneccessary info. I told them that I thought I would be able to see them perform the new songs and had just got the new CD, to which I received an enthusiastic "Thank You!!" from John Fred. Then Ben spoke up and said "Well, we do have two all ages shows coming up in San Antonio and Beaumont. Do ya'll think ya'll could make it to the Beaumont show?" We were like "unnhhh, mmmmm" and John Fred asked "Ya'll are from Houston right?" and we said "Yea, we're from Houston" and pointed to the left. Ben and John Fred looked, although I don't know why. You can't see Houston from there. So, throughout the rest of our time there, they kept saying "Come down to Beaumont, can you make it Beaumont?" I lost count. They told us about how far it was. Me and my mom already knew, we've been there before. I added random info and said "Yea, remember its on the way to Louisiana! We drove through there when we went to St. Charles, I mean Lake Charles, LA." Smooth. Then it was picture time. I had forgot to tell my mom how to operate the camera so when I gave it to her she was like "what if I can't see anything?" John Fred said "Turn on the flash" and I agreed and showed her how. Everyone got in for the photo, but apparently not good enough because my mom made it known to Jon that his "head got cut off." They laughed and all moved a little closer. Man, Chris, the lead singer, was trying extra hard to get in the picture. He was stretched all out and look what happened... Not even a sign he was there. I blame my mom's horrible photography skills. I don't know if you can see it from here, but after my mom told everyone to move in a little closer, Jon thought it was a wise guy idea to pull my waist a little bit tighter towards him. Geez. At least Ben was between me and John Fred because who know what would have happened with both of them on either side of me. After that, and a few more Beaumont persuasions, we were about to get on our way. They said they were sorry that I couldn't get in. They didn't even known it was strictly 21+ until they got there; they thought it was all ages as well. Then John Fred added "I would sneak ya in, but I would get a lot of slack for it." Whoa. Thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't want ya to get in trouble. Then, right when we were about to leave he added, "But if you're feelin frisky, come on down to Beaumont." I have no clue what that means. I didn't know you had to be frisky as a prerequisite to get down to Beaumont. Just to let you know, I didn't go. John Fred baffles me with his words and body language. At one time he like just tuned my mom out as he kept nodding, smiling, and staring at me. All in all, it was a nice little meeting. Seeing those guys is like meeting old friends again. One thing didn't go so well though. Because I was an idiot and still had Austin's Sharpie in my purse, and gave that to them to use for signing my CD, when I got back in the car, it was gone. Easy come, easy go. So I didn't get to see them perform, but at least I got to talk to them, right? Maybe that's better. I still wanted to see the show though. I failed to get my concert high. Well, according to them, they'll be back down for an all ages show. I hope so. | | |
| Ack! I actually met the members of Hinder last night!!!!!
Long story: it was the Jagermeister Music Tour 2008 with Rev Theory, Trapt, and Hinder. We actually drove this time (no tram) and waited for about 2 hours before the doors opened. I actually made it to the front row of the stage. I didn't really feel the opening band. Somebody called Squid or Squint or something like that. But before thy even came on the security was trying to hit on me. I was like "Whoa, okay dude! Calm it!" I gave him my "number" and then they move him to the other side of the stage. They had Jagermeister Tour posters all over the place and both me and my mom took one when the security guy was like "Sure. I don't care." When the Lizard Man (yea that guy) did give the okay for everyone to take them, we already had ours. Rev Theory were next. I remember seeing these guys opening for Bad Boys of Rock, which also had Hinder. Now they were part of the headliner. Moving on up guys! They did well, not my fav, but they still get kudos. These Hannah Montanas were in the vincinity and they were viciously flirting with one of the guitarists. What were they, like 12? The girl next to me also noticed how the guitarist was playing it up and was like "Dude, they're underaged!" I agree. When their act was done they came down in the crowd and was selling their CDs. That guitarist had to come down the front row. I swear,he was gonna get raped or something. Eventually he got outta there. Next was Trapt. I liked their performance, but it was sorta ruined by the dickheads that were behind us. I was unaware and didn't notice what was going on until people were making a big commotion. Apparently, some chick and these dudes were blood wasted, pissed high, or both, and came pushing their way from the very back, hitting people in the face and throwing beer. A fight was about to break out right behind me. This ain't the hood. Calm your role! The guards intervened, but didn't take them out. Just made them go back. I know everyone in the area was pissed. My mom had to be the nark and point them out by standing on the rail and saying "That's them right there! I saw them!" LOL Then she told of the girls who were pushed that she had their back. So after the weasels calmed down, I watched the rest of the performance. I only knew a few songs like "Who's Going Home With You Tonight", "Echo", and "Headstrong". Once again, the teeny boppers got the stuff. The drunk lady on the other side of me did manage to get a towel that security was reluctant to give to her. She seemed like a big fan so she definitely deserved it. Finally, Hinder was up next! That's who I paid my money to see. Even though it's like my fourth time seeing them, whenever you're in the front, that anticipation just starts to build. After the Lizard Man introduced them after his gross social commentaries (he did that the whole night before every band since he was the EMCEE), they were out! I saw the drummer hanging out under the stage beforehand and knew it was on! Last time I saw them in front row back in 2006 I was on Mark's side of the stage; this time I was on Blower's and Mike's. They took their places and after Austin's crazy raptor introduction, they busted into "Use Me." The crowd went wild and I almost peed my pants. They played more of their new material from the new album along with a little bit from Extreme Behavior. Blower kept coming over there playing his guitar looking at the crowd. These guys give it all they got. I managed to make eye contact with both Blower and Austin a couple of times and was content with that. That was enough for me to go home with. Blower keep throwing out picks, but i kept missing them. I swear he threw like 2 in my direction, but they ended up falling on the floor and security handed them to the teeny boppers and the drunk lady. Shit! The teeny boppers eventually ended up leaving to go home and open their merchandise store before the show ended. Finally! The girl next to me was even like "I'll trade you the teeny boppers for the drunk lady." I had to decline. Just like a Hinder show, bras were thrown on the stage and boobs were shown. Its a casual occurrence. They sang a good mix of songs including "How Long", "Up All Night", "Without You", "Thing for You", "Heaven Sent", "Room 21", "Lips of an Angel", "Better Than Me", "Born to Be Wild", "Homecoming Queen", "Take It To The Limit", "The Best Is Yet To Come", and "Get Stoned." On "Born To Be Wild", the lead singer from Rev Theory came out to sing with Austin. I guess that is gonna become routine with this song because last time it was Jacoby from Papa Roach. I knew the end was near when "Get Stoned" came on since that is always the last song. They said their goodbyes and it was over. Blower had threw out one last pick and it fell on the floor. Stupid Nazi security pulled in under his shoe and refused to give it to either me or the girl next to me I befriended during the show. She was like "I can stare at you for as long as it takes until you hand that pick over!" My mom was on the sidelines like "What's taking so long! Come on! What are you waiting on?" She thought I kept saying "pen", not "pick" and almost handed me a pen. I knew the girl didn't get a poster and wanted one and made a deal that if she got the pick, we would trade. We told the guy we had a business deal here, but all he wanted to know was what was in it for him. I almost threw up over my shirt. Eww! Then some more security came and told us it was time to go. I left defeated and a little disgusted. Ass! I asked my mom would she mind waiting by the buses to see if we could get to see Hinder and she didn't mind. The girl tagged along with us and, after attempting to go through the wrong door, we got around the back of the building by the buses and loading dock. On our way out we saw Rev Theory signing stuff on the front deck and the guys from the opening band squeezing past us in the crowd. After we got 'round back, it was hardly anyone there. We took a seat and were content to wait, just for hell's sake. Security said we had to move, but the flirty guy from early said that we were cool and we allowed to stay, but had to move back a bit. My mom was like "All we want to do is get Hinder to autograph our posters" and he said he'd see what he could do. All during that time other band members were walking around, but I didn't stop them. Since I was a big fan I didn't know what to say. Then the gu told us we had to move around the other side of the bus if we wanted to see them. We lost the girl in the transition. So for like 45 minutes we sat, bored and cold, by the barricades near the bus. I had to listen to the guy flirting with me again and then with him talking with another security dude about what shows they worked in the past and coming up soon. My mom thought she saw Austin, which she did, but didn't say anything cuz the has bad eyesight and didn't wanna call out the wrong guy. Lead singer dude from Rev Theory walked past and my mom just decided to shout out "Hey dude!" and he stopped and came over. She decided it wa a good idea to speak for me and told him that her daughter wanted him to sign something but doesn't know how to speak. Geez. He did though and was like "Thanks." I gave a thanks back and he was off. Seemed like he was in a rush with the girl with him. A guitarist from Trapt stomped by with a girl, but looked at me while with her. WTF? The security was like "Oh man. I need to get in a band!" He said he did have a band but his band sucks and won't being going anywhere, but he'd give an autograph. We jus laughed. The flirty guy told us to go back behind the barricade because if he lost his job he was gonna need my mom to get him a job at the hospital. We obliged. Then I saw the band coming out the bus and screamed "Austin! Blower! Cody!" but they didn't even turn around. Once again, WTF? I know they heard me. I thought "Man, this is gonna be shit." We continued to wait and my mom said that if they weren't there by 12 she had to go because she has to go to orientation for her new job. The security was like "Ya'll look so bored" and we just replied a dry "yeah." These lost drunk people kept wandering around looking for their car. That wa sa sad case since they circled around like 5 times. Some other people dropped by and tried to say stuff, but left. Really, me and my mom were the only 2 there. The ONLY two. One of the other security guys saw my mom looking tired by the rail, which we were back in front of, and asked her how was she. She told them that all she wants to do is get Hinder to sign her poster so she could go home and sleep b/c she was so tired and had to get up to go to orientation in the morning. He heard her out and told her he's see what he could do. He disappeared back behind the buses for awhile, but came back empty handed. He told us to wait a little bit longer. Then I spotted Hinder coming back to their bus and shouted "There they are! There they are right there!" My mom exclaimed "Hurry! Go get them before they leave. Please!" The guy went on ahead, briskly walking to them and I guess told them that 2 people wanted to meet them. They stopped and my mom was off. I was still standing behind the barricade and had to run around the side before it was too late. Then the security was like "Wait, stand back! Oh no, wait, they're cool. Okay go ahead!" Oh shit, shit, SHIT! They were in between 2 buses and by the time I got there my mom was already talking with them. I just had to stop and look and then curse myself for not bringing a damn camera. Then I started to unfold my poster without dropping it. While I was doing that my mom had asked Austin for a kiss and kissed him on the cheek. What?!?! I saw them all taking her poster around and signing it. Luckily she bought a Sharpie. I still couldn't believe it. Here were 4 members of Hinder (don't know where the other was) within a 12 ft MAX sq ft area just smiling, talking, and laughing with us. Then my mom realized I had made it (she thought I got left behind) and introduced me saying "Oh and here is my daughter, Chloe." Damn that must have been a keyword because I had a good 3 foot or so radius around me and that radius closed fast. I mean, before my mom could even finish saying "Daughter" I could see Austin waltzing all over there with this gleam in his eye and a permagrin. Whoa! I was reminded of John Fred from Black Stone Cherry and was getting kinda antsy.I was just like "Uhhh! Can you sign my poster too?" and just kinda held it up in front of me. I think I was creating my own barricade. LOL He enthusiastically replied, "Oh yea, no problem!" Then he handed it to Cody, the drummer, who then handed it to Mark the guitarist who used the side of the bus as a writing surface. Blower signed it too. They were actually willing to sign. I asked Austin "oh, can I have a hug too?" And he smiled and was like "Oh yeah!" He was really tall and had to bend down. I felt his stubble and was like "Whoa, I just hugged Austin Winkler!" Then Cody told me that he was glad to have us come out and hoped we had a good time. i was just like "Yeah!" smiling like a goof. Then Mark poked his head over Austin's shoulder and asked "How was it for you? Was it good?!" and i replied "Great. Oh yeah it was good!" and smiled again. God, I needed some new words. Austin came back over and told me it was nice that we could make it to the show, still there with that silly grin, holding up Sharpie. I was wondering "What's with the Sharpie?" then realized that he was hading it back to me. LOL Then Blower was scooting on over and I asked him could I hug him also and he was like "Yea, oh why not?" Score again! My mom kept asking Austin how he was doing like I don't know how may times and kissed him again. Geez woman you move fast! Then the security was like "Okay ya'll are gonna have to get moving" but by then we had what we wanted. The wierd thing about it was than Hinder wasn't going anywhere. Instead of signing and leaving, they signed, stood, and smiled. It was kinda random and totally informal. But then we had to say our good-byes. They said good-bye and just kinda stood around and then went slowly back into their bus. Me and my mom were like "Argh!!!" once we got far enough so they couldn't hear. Then she told me that when she first got there, Austin was already in the bus,but came back out once he heard there was some fans there. The talked to Blower first, but mistakenly called him Cody. She said "I was like, 'Hey Cody!'" and he said "Um, I'm Blower." She said "Oh I'm so sorry. I'm so tired and need to get some sleep since I have to go to work in the morning at the hospital. Excuse me." He said "Aw naw, that's alright. We all are tired." I guess he just kinda laughed it off. And she told Austin that we saw then live 4 times and never got a chance to get a autograph and he laughed "Oh, well's lets see what we can do about that!" I think that they were so genuine. You can tell when people are kinda bothered by you and want to leave, sign your stuff and don't even look at you. But they were so happy and willing to hang around. They easily just could have each signed and got right back on the bus when they were done, but didn't. I mean, with those radiant eyes, they couldn't have been putting on. It was a huddle of them, hanging around. It seemed like it lasted forever, but I know it probably was only about 5-10 minutes. On our way back to the car I told my mom I needed to give her Sharpie back and she said "Uh huh, i already got mine." I said "well I got one to, but didn't come with one. Austin handed it back to me." She just repeated it wasn't hers and showed me the one in her purse. I was just "Oh, well I guess I have Hinder's Sharpie too!" That was just too cool. When I woke up this morning and knew for sure it didn't happen, but the autographed poster on the table proved otherwise. Zowee! I am a huge fan of Hinder now! This can go into my bowl of experiences along with Black Stone Cherry. Oh yeah, and that picture at the top is the same one used for the poster.
| Phew! Okay, my last update in August doesn't seem all that far away, but when I think about what happened since then, it actually has been. First of all, IKE! Oh Ike, you freakin' ass-hole or a bastard hurricane! Luckily,I survived, and we didn't sustain much damage, although the tin roof on the top of the garage flew off and landed in backyard and the power was out for 2 weeks! Yes, 2 WEEKS! I almost went insane! Oh and the big tree down the street was completely uprooted and fell across the road and shingles and huge branches and carports were laying everywhere. Who am I kidding? It was a big mess. I thought Houston died along with the rest of Southeast Texas. It started really early in Galveston and we started feeling it around 6ish in the evening. I was studying my sociology book when the lights when out at 'bout 11. The wind was going crazy before then, and it hadn't even made landfall. For the rest of the night I couldn't sleep because the sounds that I heard coupled with the images I couldn't see had me frightened. When I was able to look out the window before the wind blew dirt all over the place, the trees were doing the hula. The only light was the lighting from the sky, which made it eerie. The house felt like it was gonna be blown away. I guess that was when it was ripping the roof off and almost kicked our door in. Some wind traveled into the attic too and stirred up that door. All this along with the radio, which was all we had, made me think I was gonna die that night. Seriously. I always said I wanted to see my first hurricane. Well, I got that wish and never would be too soon. Some of Houston's civil and commercial buildings were damaged too. Even my school had about several million (or more) dollars of damage. The administration building has been closed off since school reopened after the storm. They're supposed to be assessing it to see whether they should tear it down or remodel. So now, my job and one of my classes, which were in the admin. building, had to be moved to the new one that they fortunately just finished construction on this summer. I mean one of our student centers, food court, and bookstore were completely decimated. It's a sad case, but we'll get through. Looking at the rest of Houston, I think we're doing well. Just those 2 weeks without power were living hell. Fuck Centerpoint! (sorry, had to say it) FEMA too since they didn't give us or hardly anyone else anything. People are still homeless because of them. And as or Nightwish: never saw them. They had to cancel due to "damaged from Hurricane Ike". So on top of the other crap, that upset me too. Oh well, we got the money back, which helped. BUT, now they decided to reschedule and hold the concert in May. Should I go? I want to, but I have books to buy. Then again, they have some reasonable VIP tickets for sale which would guarantee a meet and greet which could makes things awesome. I'll see how my funds go. Maybe Mom will pay for it. I already bought those dang-blasted Hinder tickets that I easily coulda got from the box office and saved on all he b.s. fees that TicketMaster charges. I knew better. Yep, I'm seeing Hinder for the *counts on fingers* fourth time on December 7! Now I'll fulfill my 3-concerts-a-year rule. Well, is not really a rule, but its an average I usually go by. Their concert was also rescheduled from Ike from when they were supposed to be at the Woodlands with 3 Doors Down, but since I was gonna miss them out there anyway, this works for me. I'm getting the new CD tomorrow. School's been good. We're a bit behind, but it's working. I'm already advised for my classes for next semester and register next week. Apparently, I'm not getting into nursing school yet. Maybe in Fall 2009. That's what I get for not taking my pre-reqs on time and taking other classes that I wanted to do first instead. Last, but not least: we have a new President! Obama! Whoo! I voted on Election Day and my vote stood for something. Ah, I feel like an adult and true American for voting. Unfortunately, I might get jury duty now, but for the time being, I'll be waiting for our new president-elect to take office. Wish I could go to the inauguration, but I know its gonna be hell and high water to get there. Whichever way, it brings a smile to my face. All this is typed on my new monitor that I had to get off of eBay since that other CRapT went out after 8 long years of service. I was always kinda flaky, though. Worked fine right after Ike, but one day just turned off and never came back on. It took me about a month, but for a mere $30 (plus $4 S+H), I got a gorgeous flat screen CRT off eBay. Quite a bargain. I really didn't want to deplete my account on one of those slick screens, though I liked to have one. This one does just as well though. Now I gotta recycle the old one and the old CPU that originally came with it which present purpose is only putting indents on the backroom carpet. I'll take care off it at that Sony recycling thing next week. | | |
